Not a clue. I swear I’ve been super busy, running around like all typical crazy mothers. I’m still saving money, but maybe the wine is interfering with my production:) Anyway, I wanted to post this from my good friend Lucy Baker’s Adventures in Motherhood - What to do with all of those Easter Eggs. Yes, I’ve Been Drinking

Today, I decided to clean out all of the empty wine boxes. These were all stashed to still be reviewed. Can you believe I’ve been drinking them, but haven’t kept up on the review. I actually thought I could review from memory. I can’t remember where I bought them. I’ve got a pile of register receipts for pricing, but whatever. I’m starting over. This is ridiculous. I’m getting organized.

Below are some shopping scenarios from this week. I got the photos taken, but that’s it - that’s when I lose all the other parts. I’m going to do it - TODAY.

Above is a quick trip to CVS. Let me find that damn receipt. Figures, I can’t find it - would you all believe me if I said I paid $7 and some change? Seriously, I did. Let’s go down to the next picture. Monday’s trip to Meijer.

Remember I’ve told you I stockpile. Here’s an example. This week at Meijer Stayfree Maxi Pads were on sale. The regular price is $6.24. Sale price $5. I had a pile of coupons BOGO. The final price per package was $2.50.

The AcneFree Skin Care Systems are regularly $23 at CVS. They are regularly $18.99 at Meijer. This week they were on sale at $15.99 and I had a pile of $3 off coupons. Final price $12.99. I have 2 teenage daughters!! Need I say more?

The automatic dishwashing detergent is regularly $4.26. This week it’s on sale for $3.49. I had a pile of $2.50 off coupons. Final price 99¢.

We have got to be the worst parents on this planet. Last night our 14-year-old daughter went to her first New Year’s Eve party at a friends with friends. Little did we know when she left the house looking cute in her black Converse tennis shoes, blue jeans, and side-hair pony tail that she had 9 boxes of sparklers in her new FAKE Dolce & Gabbana bag.

I’m afraid to call the parents. What kind of losers let their child go to a party with fireworks?

When she arrived home she had a few boxes left. Of course, she, Grace, Eddie, and a neighbor had to finish them off at 1:00 AM on the front porch. This morning it looks like a war zone.

I shared my New Year’s resolutions with you yesterday. Today I thought I’d share the rest of the family’s resolutions.

Kevin
• Lose Weight
• Less TV
• Get foot fixed (He thinks it’s broken. Do you think maybe he would have done something earlier???)
• Get organized
• Fix small things around the house. Ex. thresholds, faceplates
• Re-evaluate investment strategies

Rebecca
• Finish her personal website
• Keep room organized
• Less TV & Facebook
• Beat her 45 second Rubik’s Cube record
• Enter video contests
• Learn to play the rest of Love Song on piano & guitar
• Create a charity

Grace
• Keep room clean
• Wear headgear
• Learn to do the splits
• Learn to play the guitar

Eddie
• Get more fresh air (How sad is this?)
• Try new foods
• Earn allowance
• Find an airsoft group/location

Anyway, these are the goals. We’ll see how we do:)

Okay, Here I Go! 2010 Resolutions

This year I mean it. I mean it. I’m going to accomplish something!!

2010 New Year’s Resolutions:
• Save Money (I’m going to keep track of where every penny goes - I’ll make it available for all to read)
• Find Scholarship Opportunities for the Kids (It’s never too early)
• Lose Weight - Eat Healthy, blah, blah, blah (I am going to keep a running lbs. lost scale, yikes)
• Delegate Household Chores (Chore Chart and ALL)
• Keep the House CLEAN (I suck at this. I hate housework, but dammit, I’m going to do it.)
• Exercise (YUCK)
• Meal Plan (I’ll show it to you weekly)
• Here’s the hard one - I’m NEVER going to watch another Soap Opera - Oh it hurts!

This is going to be an amazing year. Stop by often to see if I’m accomplishing my goals. I’m already thinking I should crawl back into bed. Oh jeez, I’ll do the dishes instead. I’m going to be very cranky this coming year.

I’m keeping the holiday season very low key this year. I’m not spending. I’m not running around like a crazy lady. I’m enjoying the moment. And what better way to enjoy the moment, but to have music in the background.

I wasn’t going to send holiday cards this year. This would be the first year in 20 years. Holiday cards in our house are a family event. We design our own, assemble, address, and stamp - all together, as a family. This year we are doing a collaborative family design, but I’m thinking we might print the address labels. According to Emily Post you should always handwrite the address on the envelope. Hmmm? Maybe not this year?

Last night I began thinking about next year. I’m going to do next year differently. I’m taking notes, writing lists, and it’s going to be all new - be ready for a new ME. Details to follow soon.

I will print:
• $1.50 of Frozen DiGiorno Pizza - make sure it’s on sale!
• 55¢ off Aunt Millie’s Hearth Bread - remember that’s $1 when doubled
• $1 off California Pizza Kitchen Frozen Pizza - great for busy nights
• $1 off Muir Glen products
• 50¢ off Green Giant Steamers - again that’s $1, and if they are on sale you pay pennies
• 50¢ off Betty Crocker Frosting - again that’s $, and it will go on sale for usually $1.50. 50¢ for a tub of frosting is great to have for emergencies.
• 50¢ off Chex Mix Snack - many times these go on sale for $1, and with a double coupon they are FREE
• $5 off $25 at RiteAid - when you use this with other coupons you can save big
• Many different Hasbro & Playskool coupons
• 50¢ of Starkist Tuna pouch - again usually goes on sale for $1 and so it will be FREE with doubled coupons
• $1.50 of Keebler Wheatables - again buy when on sale
